Plain-language change summary

The amendment to Bill HB 1931 introduces Chapter 70, which outlines the roles and responsibilities of fare enforcement inspectors within transit systems. It specifies that these inspectors can issue civil summonses for violations, assist with crowd control, and perform other service duties, while clarifying that they do not need to be law enforcement officers. This change matters because it formalizes the authority of fare enforcement inspectors, potentially improving transit safety and passenger experience by allowing non-law enforcement personnel to handle certain tasks.
