The recent changes to Bill SB 781 clarify the process for obtaining a temporary disability parking placard. Now, applicants must include a healthcare provider's statement or a police officer's statement confirming their disability when submitting their application to the department. This is important as it ensures that only eligible individuals receive these mobility aids, potentially reducing misuse and improving access for those who truly need it.
