Plain-language change summary

The amendments made to HB 2052 clarify that school districts must take specific actions to support students whose parents or guardians are called to active military duty. They will now provide information and access to school guidance counselors, as well as military support services, ensuring that these families receive the necessary assistance. This change matters because it helps address the unique challenges faced by students from military families, thereby facilitating their educational experience during stressful times.
