The revised version of Bill SB 439 has added specific standards for carbon monoxide alarms in child care facilities, ensuring that any combination devices for smoke and carbon monoxide detection must be compliant with recognized safety standards. Additionally, it emphasizes that these devices should clearly differentiate between smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, enhancing safety in child care environments. These changes are important as they aim to provide clearer safety requirements, thereby helping to protect children from the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning.
