Plain-language change summary

The amended version of Bill HB 922 expands the definitions of who qualifies for retirement under the State Employees' Retirement System. It specifically clarifies that it includes members of the General Assembly and various state-related employees, while excluding independent contractors and those paid by entities other than state employers. This change is significant because it ensures that more public employees are covered by retirement benefits, which can help attract and retain talent in public service roles.
