Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to Bill SB 978 clarify the process for disposing of unused prescription medications from patients in hospice or home health care settings. It now includes specific definitions for "family member" and "health care representative," which will help ensure that the right individuals are involved in the decision-making process. This change is important because it promotes safe medication disposal, ultimately protecting both public health and the environment by preventing unused medications from being improperly discarded.
