Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to Bill HB 2437 clarify the penalties for stalking, especially for individuals with prior convictions of violent crimes against the same victim or household member. It emphasizes the importance of protecting domestic and sexual violence victims by proposing stricter sentencing for repeat offenders. This change aims to ensure that those who pose a continued risk to their victims face more serious consequences, which can help enhance victim safety and deter future crimes.
