What changed in the latest version
21 added · 76 removedPlain-language change summary
The latest version of Bill SB 133 now requires the Department of Transportation to request an extension from the Department of Homeland Security for compliance with the Real ID Act. Importantly, it also repeals a previous law that prevented Pennsylvania from participating in Real ID. This change matters because it allows the state to pursue compliance with federal identification standards, which can help residents use their driver's licenses for federal purposes, like boarding flights or accessing federal buildings.
