Plain-language change summary

The latest version of Bill HB 2291 has made a key change by removing the proposed addition of a definition for the "Office of the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman" and the associated provisions for the "right to enter and inspect" personal care homes. This amendment simplifies the bill's focus on clarifying what constitutes a personal care home without adding oversight responsibilities. This change matters because it streamlines regulatory requirements and may make it easier for existing facilities to meet the necessary standards, focusing the legislation more clearly on the definition of personal care homes.
