What changed in the latest version
106 added · 115 removedPlain-language change summary
The updated version of Bill SB 1070 removes the specific focus on firearm education and training for probation and parole officers, shifting instead to a broader oversight of their general education and training. Additionally, it clarifies the methods for calculating short sentence parole and emphasizes the increased use of state drug treatment programs and sanctions for technical parole violations. These changes aim to improve the effectiveness of probation and parole systems, potentially leading to better rehabilitation outcomes and reduced recidivism.
