Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to Bill SB 762 introduced several changes to the auditing process of the SURE voting system. Notably, it adds a requirement for a review of security protocols and internal controls, while removing some specific references to previously outlined federal regulations. This matters because it broadens the scope of the audit, ensuring a more comprehensive evaluation of both security and efficiency, which is critical for maintaining public confidence in the voting process. Additionally, it ensures that state agencies cooperate fully with the Auditor General to promote transparency and accountability in how elections are managed.
