In plain language
The bill requires AI companions to detect and respond to suicide risk in users.
This legislation mandates that operators of artificial intelligence companions implement protocols to identify and address suicidal thoughts or self-harm. Additionally, these operators must inform users that they are interacting with AI, not a human.
What this means for you
- Families: This means families can have greater assurance that AI companions will address potential mental health issues of users.
Summary

Provides that an operator shall provide a clear and conspicuous notification to a user that states, either verbally or in text, that the user is not communicating with a human, at specified times.
