Summary

Amends the Fire Investigation Act. Upon discovery of a fire-related death, the chief of the fire department or designee shall notify the Office for an investigation of the cause, origin, and circumstances. Provides that, notwithstanding the notification requirements, the chief of the fire department or designee shall maintain control of the scene until a representative of the Office arrives on the scene and initiates the investigation. Further provides that fire departments shall not be prohibited from conducting an investigation in conjunction with the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
