Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to Bill AJR 7 add more detail about the structure and responsibilities of the proposed Citizens' Commission on Compensation for Certain Elected Officers. Notably, it specifies that the commission will consist of seven members appointed by the Governor, who will represent diverse backgrounds and include individuals with expertise in public compensation and nonprofit interests. These changes aim to ensure that the commission is better equipped to make fair and informed compensation decisions for elected officials in Nevada. This matters because it introduces more transparency and accountability in how elected officials are compensated.
