and - *AJR6* – 2 – W HEREAS , Up to 11.8 percent of Social Security beneficiaries in Nevada affected by the Windfall Elimination Provision are expected to receive an estimated increase to their duly earned Social Security benefits of up to $558 per month;

now, therefore, be it R ESOLVED BY THE A SSEMBLY AND SENATE OF THE STATE OF N EVADA , OINTLY , That the Nevada Legislature hereby urges Congress to enact legislation to extend the Social Security Fairness Act to apply from the month of December 2013 forward and for the President of the United States to sign that legislation into law;
now, therefore, be it RESOLVED BY THE A SSEMBLY AND SENATE OF THE STATE OF N EVADA , JOINTLY , That the Nevada Legislature hereby urges Congress to enact legislation to extend the Social Security Fairness Act to apply from the month of December 2013 forward and for the - 83rd Session (2025) – 2 – President of the United States to sign that legislation into law;
and be it further R ESOLVED , That the Chief Clerk of the Assembly prepare and transmit a copy of this resolution to the President of the United States, the Vice President of the United States as the presiding officer of the Senate, the Speaker of the House of Representatives and each member of the Nevada Congressional Delegation;
