The recently amended Assembly Bill No. 401 allows schools of practical and professional nursing to set their own student-to-faculty ratios for clinical training courses, as long as these ratios do not exceed 1 faculty member for every 12 students. Previously, the law mandated a stricter ratio of 1 faculty member for every 8 students. This change is important because it provides schools with more flexibility to manage their resources and may lead to changes in how nursing programs operate, potentially improving how clinical training is delivered.
