The recent amendment to Assembly Bill No. 355 adds funding of $750,000 to support an initiative called “Expanding the Leaderverse,” which aims to enhance leadership diversity within the gaming industry. It stipulates that this funding is contingent on the International Gaming Institute securing an equivalent amount of matching funds from other sources, such as private donations and public grants. This is important because it encourages financial collaboration and ensures that the initiative has broad support, potentially increasing the impact of the funding on diversity in leadership. Additionally, there's a deadline for using this money, which is set to end on June 30, 2023, ensuring that the funds are utilized in a timely manner.
