Plain-language change summary

The revised version of Senate Bill No. 114 now clarifies that food establishments can produce and sell food containing specific hemp components, as long as these components are deemed safe by the FDA. This change is important because it expands the options for businesses to include hemp in their food products, which can benefit both producers and consumers by increasing the variety of safe, hemp-infused food available in the market. Additionally, the amendment still requires food establishments to obtain appropriate permits and adhere to health regulations, ensuring safety and compliance in the food industry.
