Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to Senate Bill No. 359 change the penalties related to the unauthorized extraction of concentrated cannabis, reducing the penalty from a category C felony to a category D felony. This change matters because it lowers the potential consequences for this act, which may make it less intimidating for individuals involved in cannabis-related activities. Additionally, the revised bill clarifies that there are still serious penalties if such activities result in a fire or explosion, ensuring public safety remains a priority.
