Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to Assembly Bill No. 360 change the existing rules around selling tobacco products. Previously, the law prohibited selling tobacco to anyone under 18, but the new version requires age verification for anyone under 40 before selling them tobacco products. This means sellers must take extra steps to confirm the age of their customers, which could help reduce underage access to tobacco. This change is important for public health, as it aims to prevent younger individuals from obtaining tobacco products.
