Plain-language change summary

The changes in Senate Bill No. 32 mainly expand the confidentiality protections for records related to disciplinary actions against individuals with licenses or permits from the Department of Taxation. It now treats these records as confidential in the same way as tax assessments. Additionally, the bill allows for broader disclosures of these records to law enforcement, regulatory agencies, and courts, which could enhance transparency while still protecting individual privacy. This matters because it strengthens privacy protections for individuals while also ensuring that relevant authorities can access necessary information when needed.
