The revised version of Bill SB 440 now allocates funds separately to the American Red Cross of Southern Nevada and Northern Nevada, totaling $300,000 instead of solely to the American Red Cross of Nevada. It outlines specific uses for the funds, including the installation of smoke alarms and fire safety education. This change aims to enhance fire safety measures across different regions of Nevada, ensuring more residents receive essential services like smoke alarm installation and preparedness education. The previous requirement for detailed expenditure reports has been removed, simplifying oversight.
