The recent amendments to SB 2385 clarify the rules for motorcycle operators at intersections with red traffic signals. The changes establish a specific defense for operators, allowing them to proceed through a red signal if they meet several conditions, such as stopping completely and waiting for three minutes if no other vehicles or pedestrians are present. This matters because it gives motorcycle riders a clearer legal framework to navigate situations where they might otherwise have faced penalties, potentially reducing confusion and increasing safety on the roads.
