Plain-language change summary

The amendment to Bill HB 937 removes the previous requirement that the salaries of the commissioner and the deputy commissioner of banking and consumer finance be based on the average compensation of their counterparts in Louisiana, Alabama, and Tennessee. Instead, it now states that their salaries will be set by the State Personnel Board, which can provide a more standardized approach to salary decisions. This change is significant because it gives the State Personnel Board the authority to determine salaries, potentially enhancing fairness and consistency within state compensation practices.
