Plain-language change summary

The recent amendment to SB 2955 removed several exemptions from sales tax that were originally designated for specific organizations and events, including school supplies and services for various charitable foundations. The bill now focuses primarily on a sales tax holiday for clothing and footwear priced under $100 during a specific weekend. This change simplifies the legislation and targets support directly to consumers, making it easier for families to access affordable clothing during back-to-school shopping.
