Plain-language change summary

In the revised version of Bill HB 628, the interest rate on unpaid benefits has been increased from one and one-half percent (1.5%) per month to three percent (3%) per month. This change means that those waiting for their claims to be settled will earn more interest on the money they are owed, which can provide them with some financial relief during that waiting period. Additionally, the bill clarifies that healthcare providers must be notified directly when payments are made to the insured for medical care, although this requirement doesn't apply to certain types of insurance policies. These adjustments aim to ensure better compensation for insured individuals while maintaining clear communication between insurers and healthcare providers.
