The amendments to SB 2831 clarify the definitions related to service providers and establish the responsibilities of a licensee regarding their information security programs. Changes include specifying the necessity for licensees to designate an employee, affiliate, or vendor to manage their information security, and ensuring that the security measures reflect the risks and sensitivity of the data involved. This is important because it strengthens the framework for protecting sensitive information, thereby enhancing security within the insurance sector.
