The updated version of Bill HB 1561 clarifies the definition of "term contract" to specify that it includes contracts for various commodities and goods purchased by agencies, while explicitly excluding those for resale or raw materials. Additionally, it simplifies the requirements for bidders on public construction contracts, allowing them to either show proof of their current insurance coverage or demonstrate their ability to obtain it after being awarded the contract. These changes may help streamline the contracting process and make it more accessible for a diverse range of bidders.
