Plain-language change summary

The updated version of SB 2002 expands the definition of the coastal region to include the county lands surrounding the county seats of Harrison, Hancock, and Jackson, extending the area where funds can be used. It also specifies that the Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) will support the board managing the Gulf Coast Restoration Fund and sets a limit on how much of the funds can be used for administrative expenses. These changes are important because they clarify the areas eligible for funding and ensure a more structured approach to managing and utilizing those funds for coastal restoration efforts.
