Plain-language change summary

In the revised version of SB 2678, new powers and duties have been granted to the Commission on Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, allowing them to adjust regulations and fees related to hunting, fishing, and guiding services. Specifically, the bill establishes a requirement for freshwater fishing guides who use boats to obtain a special boat license and decal, while setting clear fees at $150 for guide licenses and $250 for outfitter licenses for both residents and nonresidents. Moreover, previous restrictions that prohibited these guides from fishing or keeping fish while providing their services have been removed. These changes simplify regulatory requirements for guides and outfitters, aiming to enhance operational clarity while still aiming to protect wildlife resources.
