Plain-language change summary

The revised version of Bill HB 985 adds specific roles within various state agencies to participate in a new interagency system aimed at improving services for children. Notably, positions such as the Executive Directors of the State Department of Rehabilitation Services and the Mississippi Department of Employment Security, along with a youth court judge, were included to enhance collaboration. This change matters because involving a broader range of stakeholders may lead to more effective service delivery, reducing redundancies and better meeting the needs of children and families.
