The amended version of Bill SB 2996 reduced the overall funding from approximately $19 million to about $18.4 million and decreased the number of permanent staff positions from 229 to 200. Additionally, it specified that $500,000 would be allocated to Innovate Mississippi, which indicates a focus on supporting innovation in the state.
