Plain-language change summary

The amendment to Bill HB 1011 introduces new provisions regarding net energy metering for residential customers using smaller electricity generation systems, such as solar or wind. It clarifies that customers who generate their own electricity can receive payment for the excess electricity they supply to the utility, with different reimbursement methods based on the size of the utility. This matters because it provides specific guidelines on how much customers will be reimbursed and ensures timely payments, which can encourage more people to invest in renewable energy systems.
