The revised version of Bill HB 2284 introduces the "Volunteer Driver Protection Act," which specifically protects volunteer drivers from discrimination by insurance companies. Now, insurers cannot deny coverage or raise rates simply because someone is a volunteer driver for a nonprofit organization. This change is significant as it encourages more people to volunteer their time and resources without the fear of facing higher insurance costs or potential coverage issues, ultimately boosting community support services.
