The recent changes to SB 2344 involved adding provisions regarding the management of funds related to surplus property. Specifically, if the balance in the State Surplus Property Revolving Fund exceeds $500,000, the excess will now be transferred to the General Revenue Fund. Additionally, proceeds from the sale of Federal surplus property will be used to reimburse related expenses and a separate account will be established for wastepaper recycling revenues. These amendments are significant because they streamline the management of surplus property funds, ensure accountability in the use of proceeds, and support recycling initiatives.
