Plain-language change summary

The updated version of Bill HB 1432 specifies that the treatment of serious mental illnesses now explicitly includes anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa as separate conditions, rather than grouping them under a broader term of "eating disorders." Additionally, the revised bill removes the reference to "Eating Disorders Not Otherwise Specified (EDNOS)." This matters because it clarifies the specific conditions covered, ensuring that patients with these serious eating disorders receive appropriate recognition and support in their treatment and insurance reimbursements.
