Plain-language change summary

The updated version of HB 4968 shifts the responsibility of reporting annual lead poisoning cases from the Attorney General and State's Attorney offices to the Department of Public Health. This change is important because it streamlines the process, putting it in the hands of the public health department, which may be better equipped to handle such cases. By centralizing the reporting, the hope is to improve enforcement of lead safety measures and increase accountability.
