Plain-language change summary

The recent changes to Bill HB 4545 introduce specific provisions for stormwater management in Peoria County, which include creating a unified countywide structure, setting minimum management standards, and developing a comprehensive stormwater runoff plan. This is an important shift because it aims to improve flood control and the management of both natural and man-made drainage systems in the county, making it better equipped to handle stormwater challenges. Additionally, a planning committee may be formed to ensure collaborative decision-making between county and municipal representatives, enhancing local governance in this critical area.
