Plain-language change summary

The amendments to Bill HB 722 alter the penalties and requirements for individuals who drive with a revoked license due to serious offenses like reckless homicide. Key changes include increasing the severity of punishments for repeat violations, establishing mandatory prison or community service for a first offense, and requiring the installation of ignition interlock devices for those granted restricted driving permits. This matters because it aims to enhance road safety by imposing stricter consequences on repeat offenders, potentially preventing future incidents related to dangerous driving behaviors.
