The latest version of SB 1013 has added specific details about how counties will reduce their use of juvenile detention for young offenders. Additionally, references to the involvement of various state officials, including the State's Attorney and representatives from social services, were retained, ensuring continued oversight and collaboration in implementing these changes. These adjustments are important because they clarify the expectations and processes for reducing juvenile detention and involve relevant parties in the decision-making process, which may lead to better outcomes for youth in the justice system.
