What changed in the latest version
72 added · 126 removedPlain-language change summary
The updated version of HB 3653 introduces a new Loan Repayment Program aimed at encouraging physicians to practice in low-income areas and rural counties with small populations. Physicians who commit to working in these underserved areas for at least 3 years will receive $10,000 annually to help pay off their medical school loans. This change is significant because it addresses healthcare access in communities that often struggle to attract medical professionals, ultimately aiming to improve health outcomes for residents in those areas.
