Plain-language change summary

The latest version of SB 194 introduces amendments to the School Code regarding transitional assistance payments related to school district changes. Specifically, it allows the State Board of Education to adjust calculations for these payments if a school district undergoes significant enrollment changes due to the annexation of territory from another district. This change is important because it ensures that districts facing rapid enrollment increases can receive the necessary financial support more effectively, which helps maintain educational resources for students. Additionally, the bill clarifies that these provisions are retroactive to cover cases from as early as July 1, 2004.
