The revised version of SB 2595 adds a program for health benefits coverage specifically for retirees and their dependents from certain community college districts that weren't previously included. This change is significant because it expands health coverage to more retirees, ensuring they have access to necessary health benefits. Additionally, the bill includes the establishment of an advisory committee to help guide the program and its funding needs. These adjustments aim to improve the overall health security of community college retirees in Illinois.
