Plain-language change summary

The revised version of Bill SB 264 has made some important changes regarding the definition and structure of birth centers. The latest version clarifies that a birth center is exclusively focused on childbirth-related needs and does not change the maximum bed count, which remains at 10. This specificity ensures that these centers are dedicated spaces that offer both prenatal care and educational services while coordinating with other healthcare providers, ultimately aiming to enhance the quality of care for mothers and newborns.
