What changed in the latest version
15 added · 40 removedPlain-language change summary
The amended version of SB 2072 now includes provisions that allow disabled individuals to benefit from a property tax assessment freeze exemption, which was previously only available to senior citizens. The name of the exemption has been changed to reflect this inclusion, now called the "Senior Citizens and Disabled Persons Assessment Freeze Homestead Exemption." This change is important because it broadens financial relief for seniors and disabled individuals alike, helping to make housing more affordable for these groups. Additionally, the amendment stipulates that the law will be implemented without any reimbursement to local governments, which could have budget implications.
