Plain-language change summary

The amended version of Bill SB 154 removes the provision that would have ended the additional 50-cent tire fee on January 1, 2008. This means that the fee will continue to be collected from retail customers, helping to fund environmental protection efforts related to tire disposal. By keeping this fee in place, the state can ensure ongoing financial support for programs aimed at minimizing environmental harm from discarded tires. This change is important for maintaining the effectiveness of tire management initiatives.
