Plain-language change summary

The changes to Bill SB 452 include the addition of provisions that clarify that no legal fees or guardian ad litem costs will be charged to the Department of Human Services' Office of Inspector General when they are the petitioners in cases related to the Abuse of Adults with Disabilities Intervention Act. Prior to this amendment, similar protections only applied to other guardian agencies under different acts. This matters because it ensures that the Department can operate without additional financial burdens when seeking to protect vulnerable adults, promoting more effective intervention in abuse cases.
