The recent amendment to Bill SB 6065 allows school districts under financial oversight to request permission to transfer money from their transportation vehicle fund to other school funds. Additionally, if a district has taken a temporary loan from this fund, they can ask to make it a permanent transfer without repayment. This change is significant because it provides more flexibility for struggling school districts to manage their finances and support essential programs without jeopardizing transportation resources.
