In the amendments to Bill SB 5514, a specific provision for K-12 school buildings facing financial hardships was removed. This change is important because it removes a distinct category for schools, which could affect their ability to qualify for certain financial aid or considerations related to their building conditions. Adjusting the criteria for hardship may streamline the process but could also mean that schools will have to meet the same standards as other buildings without any additional allowances.
