The amendments to House Bill 2458 clarify and solidify the intent and operation of the Washington college grant program, which aims to provide free college education access for eligible residents. Notably, the revised bill removes the expiration date previously included, ensuring the program’s ongoing stability and funding. This change matters because it helps secure long-term support for students seeking postsecondary education and strengthens their ability to compete in the job market.
